Current Role

As the director of solutions, Sandy leads the firm’s accounting and business, human resource, and technology solutions divisions, which provide business owners with a comprehensive approach to managing their businesses.

With a focus on the professional service industry, concentrating on medical, dental and legal practices, Sandy helps clients maximize potential tax savings and provides financial reporting that allows them to seek new opportunities to grow their business. Sandy is a member of Rehmann’s healthcare leadership group and is a firm-wide resource on internal controls in the healthcare arena.

Experience

Sandy has worked in public accounting since 1986 and joined Rehmann in 1989. Her experience includes practice assessments, corporate and personal income tax, high net worth tax planning, real estate, compensation arrangements, practice mergers, internal control analysis, financial statement analysis and planning, as well as various other areas regarding financial management of professional service practices. Sandy previously chaired Rehmann’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) and led the Firm’s tax internal inspections.

  • Clients work with Sandy to identify accounting department functions that can be outsourced to save them money and eliminate the stress of staff retainment.
  • Sandy has presented on financial matters to various medical and dental societies, The University of Michigan Dental School and Practice Leaders roundtables.
  • Sandy is involved in her community through Winning Futures, an award-winning nonprofit that empowers students through life skills and mentoring programs. She is a member of the Board of Directors and serves as Treasurer.
  • Sandy stays current on industry issues through her membership with the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants (NSCHBC).

Sandy has served in leadership roles for Women’s American ORT Michigan Region (past president), ORT America (Michigan Board of Directors), Hillel Day School (past finance committee member), Frankel Jewish Academy (past audit committee member).
