Current Role

As an advisor to companies in a broad range of industries, Renee focuses solely on providing state and local tax services. She helps clients manage risk, educates them on prospective compliance requirements and develops effective solutions that give them peace of mind. Her depth of knowledge and years of experience enable her to quickly assess their situation and recommend proactive solutions.

Renee serves as a firm-wide resource on state and local tax matters, working with specialists from around the firm to continuously monitor legislative activities and administrative developments and to share best practices.

Experience

Renee has worked in public accounting since 2001. Prior to joining Rehmann in 2008, Renee was a state and local tax manager with Ernst & Young LLP and a member of the state and local tax team at Arthur Andersen. Her skills also include controversy representation and penalty abatement, income tax apportionment sourcing reviews and implementation of business structure changes.

A Closer Look

  • As an active member of the MICPA’s SALT Task Force, Renee stays current on the latest technical and industry standards impacting her clients.
  • Renee is currently assisting clients with sales and use tax compliance requirements, now made more complex by the 2018 U.S. Supreme Court decision, South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc.

Renee is experienced in nexus reviews and advising clients on the optimal voluntary disclosure strategy that will save them penalties and taxes.
