Current Role
As Rehmann’s director of state and local tax (SALT), Lisa focuses on identifying tax savings and resolving multi-state tax issues for domestic and international clients alike. She performs SALT planning, consulting, audit defense and dispute resolution for all entity types and individuals to minimize tax and manage risk.

Experience
Prior to joining Rehmann in 2020, Lisa focused on state and local taxes at public accounting firms and at law firms. She brings a wealth of knowledge serving clients with tax-related matters in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, construction, not-for-profit and transportation. She has extensive experience resulting in technical knowledge and practical solutions that enable her to simplify state and local taxes for each of her clients. For instance, she has developed comprehensive sales and use tax matrixes for constructions companies working in multiple states.
A Closer Look
In addition to being the MICPA’s representative for the Individual Tax Advisory Group to the Michigan Department of Treasury, Lisa is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and the MICPA’s state and local tax taskforce.
With a passion for teaching others, Lisa is an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University where she teaches research and writing in the Master of Taxation Program.
Lisa has helped reduce individual income tax through unitary apportionment of business income, helped reduce exposure for multi-state clients through voluntary disclosure agreements, and represented numerous clients at informal conferences in various states.
