Current Role

Brent is the Director of Innovation and Change Management for Rehmann. He is responsible for the firm-wide innovation and digital transformation strategies. This includes collaborating with clients, firm leadership, and advisors to develop and execute our client and associate technology strategies. He also leads the strategic business analyst teams, which serve as liaisons between Rehmann’s service lines the information technology team.

Experience

Brent’s accounting and technology career began in the private sector preparing financial statements for long-term care facilities for six years. In this role, he was part of the company’s team that implemented one of the first integrated medical record, billing and accounting digital cloud-based platform. He joined Rehmann’s assurance department in 2008, managing audits and preparing tax returns for the industries Rehmann serves. His knowledge of IT systems and how they impact each industry led him to the assurance strategic business analyst leadership role with the firm in 2015. In 2022, he was promoted to the Director of Innovation and Change Management.

A Closer Look

  • Actively involved in his community, Brent participates with the Lakeshore’s Chamber of Commerce events and has spent time with the local theater group.
  • Brent supports a local church with bookkeeping and reports to their vestry board.
  • Educating the CPA profession and industry about the audit and firm of the future, Brent is a member and frequently speaks at conferences hosted by the Government Finance Officers Association, AICPA, and MICPA.
