Shelby Beachnau, CPA

Current Role

As an assurance and financial reporting professional, Shelby’s role consists of providing and overseeing assurance engagements, maintaining client relations and developing and training associates to drive technical and critical thinking skills.

As a member of the commercial audit group, Shelby assists in developing firm-wide best practices, as well as developing and maintaining ongoing training efforts. She also leads the southeast region internship program which seeks to connect those just starting in their career with the community that they serve through outreach and volunteer opportunities.

Experience

Shelby joined Rehmann in 2017 as an intern and has since joined the firm full-time. Her past experience includes internal auditing, and consistent development of her business advisory, technical accounting and research skills. Since the start of her career at Rehmann, Shelby has experience providing a variety of assurance services to small to large-sized private entities, performing financial statement audits, employee benefit plan audits, and reviews. Shelby has worked on various international assurance engagements which included clients in Canada, Mexico and Germany.

A Closer Look

• Focused on her own growth and the growth of her peers, Shelby is a part of Rehmann’s internal Manufacturing Growth Committee, and Assurance and Financial Reporting/Word Processing task force. She also leads the Young Leader Development Program for Troy and Detroit associates.
• Since 2022, Shelby has been actively involved in the Detroit Economic Club’s Young Leaders networking group and ACG Women’s Forum Group.
• Since 2022, Shelby has served as the Finance Advisor to the Alpha Tau chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority at Michigan State University, where she works to support and guide college-age women on budgeting, cash management and personal finance strategies.
