Current Role

Erik strives to help his clients effectively manage their tax obligations, whether through effective annual tax planning or transactional assistance. His client-focused service approach centers on consistent communication, effectively managing deadlines and providing proactive solutions.

As a member of Rehmann’s cannabis industry group and private equity practice, Erik provides insight and leadership to these teams.

Experience

Erik has experience serving a broad range of clients across multiple industries, including the cannabis, energy, manufacturing, and private equity sectors. He also has substantial experience serving clients with complex equity structures often associated with private equity or foreign ownership.

Prior to joining Rehmann in 2018, Erik provided tax services with a large national firm, providing tax consulting and compliance services to large companies with international and private equity ownership. He also served as the director of tax for the firm’s local office.

  • As a thought leader, Erik is a frequent speaker and panelist on tax matters to many associations and groups, including the Michigan Angel Community and Michigan Venture Capital Association.

Erik is active in his community, currently serving on the finance committee of the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, as well as previously serving as treasurer for Northwest Michigan Toys for Tots Foundation.
