Innovative ideas are often a key to success, but they need to be delicately balanced with practical insight — and that’s where my role comes in — combining knowledge and diverse experience with a strategic thought process to help you accomplish your goals.”

Current Role

Carol leads the tax practice for Rehmann’s Troy location, serving a wide range of middle-market businesses on tax planning, business transactions and operational issues. She connects business owners and their executive teams with a group of professionals who possess the right experience for their unique situation.

Service Areas

  • Tax and business planning
  • Business transition consulting

Experience

Carol has more than 30 years of experience in both public and private accounting. Her broad industry experience includes real estate, franchises, start-up businesses, multi-state businesses, service industries, professional service firms and manufacturing.

Carol’s technical tax experience focuses on joint ventures and partnerships. She uses her experience to craft business arrangements that take into account differing goals and concerns of the parties involved in creating a successful business.

Prior to joining Rehmann in 2008, Carol was a tax partner with a national public accounting firm for 27 years, after which she transitioned to the role of CFO for a client’s start-up business. She helped grow the business from 5 to 1,600 employees and created a successful tax planning strategy before selling the business at a substantial profit.

  • A steady, experienced advisor in business transition situations, Carol has successfully walked many clients through complex tax, economic and individual issues due to the coming and going of business partners.
