Industry perspective: Manufacturing

Serving as the vice president of a manufacturing company before working at Rehmann allowed Don to "see things from the other side of the desk." He has a broader business sense regarding what his clients face, and enjoys helping them prioritize matters.

"I understand the key factors that drive how the finance department supports the rest of the operations," Don added. "My experience also helps me anticipate some of the issues that manufacturing clients will face before they face them."

Carol Wright, CPA | Principal
Industry perspective: Healthcare

Before joining Rehmann, Carol was the Chief Financial Officer of a healthcare company. There, she learned how much it mattered to have a quality team supporting you.

Industry perspective: Real Estate

Drawing on her experience as the Chief Financial Officer of a large real estate company, Chris is able to see her clients' businesses holistically through their eyes.

Magdalena Marriott, CPA, MBA, CISA | Principal
Industry perspective: Financial Institutions

As a finance executive at a large bank holding company, Magdalena learned to appreciate how difficult it can be for complex organizations to implement new accounting standards.

"When accounting rules or reporting requirements change, a tremendous amount of work is required to obtain and analyze all of the information necessary to, for example, prepare the new disclosures or change accounting processes. I understand the importance of keeping my clients informed of upcoming changes and I provide practical advice on how to 'operationalize' the new requirements," Magdalena added.

Steve Armstrong, JD, LLM | Principal
Industry perspective: Law Firms

While working in a law firm as a transactional tax attorney, Steve learned that clients like being presented with options, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

“I spend a lot of time with my clients learning about their needs and wants so that I can provide services that are specifically tailored to them. Every individual is unique, so I never provide the same ‘cut and dry’ approach. I enjoy designing different planning solutions that make their lives a little easier,” Steve said.

Mike Powell, CPA, MST | Principal
Industry perspective: Manufacturing

While working for a large international and multi-state manufacturer, Mike learned to appreciate how valuable his time was.

“There are a lot of constraints on your time, and you can find yourself being pulled in two different directions,” Mike said. “In one direction, you’re trying to grow the business, while in the other direction, you have to pay attention to the day-to-day efforts necessary just to keep the business running.
