Current Role
Doug leads Rehmann’s private household industry practice, primarily focusing on serving high net-worth individuals and their corresponding family offices, closely held businesses and real estate partnerships. As the leader of the Ann Arbor office tax practice, he provides tax and estate planning services throughout Southeast Michigan, while serving as a corporate wide resource for Rehmann’s individual and private household clients.

Experience
Doug is experienced in the tax implications and ramifications of entity structure identification, selection and formation. He has served as the lead engagement professional on multiple compliance and consulting engagements involving multi-tier partnership/LLC flow-through structures and has been responsible for annual tax compliance of clients in real estate, high net-worth individuals, exempt-organizations and a publicly traded REIT. Doug works extensively with local area financial institutions regarding their fiduciary tax reporting requirements.
Prior to joining Rehmann in 2013, Doug had nearly 20 years of experience with Deloitte, providing tax consulting and compliance services. For several of those years, he served in the national research and development group focusing on specialized credits and incentives.

- Doug is involved in his community, serving as a current or past board or committee member for the Leslie Science and Nature Center, Shelter Association of Washtenaw County, Association of Track Officials of Michigan and the Dexter Community Fund.
- A supporter of Eastern Michigan University, Doug serves on the accounting advisory board and previously served as president of the accounting alumni association.
