Current Role

Extensive knowledge in the accounting and income tax industries has enabled Craig to build a diverse client base which includes individuals, not-for-profit organizations and businesses — from corporations to smaller, family-owned companies. In addition to tax planning and compliance services, Craig provides trust and estate planning, business entity structuring, succession planning and transactional services.

Experience

Craig has over 30 years of experience in taxation and has worked exclusively in public accounting throughout his career. Embracing an entrepreneurial spirit, Craig co-founded the Lansing-based firm Godfrey Wise Berg in 2005 which combined with Rehmann in 2018, providing access to a broader network, resources and operational expertise.

Craig is frequently a keynote speaker on a variety of business and taxation topics, including the estate/retirement planning presentations with Sparrow Clinton Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Continuously expanding his knowledge base and network, Craig is a member of the Lansing Chamber of Commerce, Greater Lansing Estate Planning Council and the Initia Group (a network of consultants with varying specialties designed to assist clients with succession planning and implementation).

A Closer Look

  • Discussing topics of interest with the local Lansing community from a tax perspective, Craig served as the “CPA Expert” with a group of professional service providers on Citadel’s Michigan Talk Network for three years.
  • Craig is actively involved in his community, serving as a member of Case Credit Union (board member) and Lansing’s Child and Family Charities (finance committee and board member emeritus).
  • Communication with tax clients throughout the year has enabled Craig to provide unique solutions to meet their needs, such as consulting for business structuring transitions and the purchase or sale of businesses.
