Michael provides state and local tax (SALT) consulting services to help clients determine the most advantageous way to minimize taxes and mitigate risk. Working with cross-functional teams, Michael conducts nexus reviews, sales tax taxability reviews and income tax sourcing analyses.

With a focus on structural and operational strategic planning, Michael has helped clients save millions of dollars on their taxes by identifying errors in prior documentation and highlighting opportunities to reclassify income. He closely monitors tax law and creates practical strategies for implementation.

Michael joined Rehmann in 2015, after 14 years in public accounting at local CPA firms. While practicing exclusively in the state and local tax area now, Michael developed his SALT skills while also doing extensive federal tax consulting and compliance, as well as general business consulting and financial statement preparation and audits. This breadth of experience allows Michael to consider all facets of your business in his SALT consulting.
