Rehmann pivots to working remotely and will close normal access to offices

To our clients and friends:

I want to thank all of you for your flexibility and patience as we work together through the constantly changing coronavirus, or COVID-19, situation. Rehmann will continue to provide you seamless service delivery using innovative technology, as well as information to help you with this quickly evolving situation. We hope that you lean on Rehmann during these trying times for insight, expertise and the trusted services you have come to expect from us. We are here to help you.

Like many of you, Rehmann is taking every precaution to protect the health and safety of our associates, our clients and our families. With that in mind, Rehmann will begin working remotely and close normal access to Rehmann offices as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 until further notice.

How we will work with you remotely:

  • Utilize technology:  Rest assured, Rehmann has always invested in technology and valued mobility. We have the necessary technology and security measures in place to continue seamless service remotely, and more importantly, securely. Emails and phone numbers will not be impacted; you may continue to contact your advisor or account manager with your current contact information. In instances where technology cannot be leveraged, your advisor will reach out to you to discuss accommodations.

  • IRS filing deadline: The Treasury Department has indicated they will extend tax payments by three months. Nonetheless, we remain committed to getting your tax return to you as soon as possible. With the additional time, please send your documents electronically to avoid delays in determining your tax liability, as well as for the safety of our associates opening postal mail.

  • Sending documents electronically: Electronic delivery of your materials is the preferred and safest method to provide information to us. Please visit www.rehmann.com, where you can click the “Client Login” link at the top, then the “Citrix ShareFile” link and follow the prompts. However, if you are a Rehmann Wealth Management client, federal regulations require that you contact your advisor directly. If you are a 1040 tax client and need to scan your documents, software is available to scan and upload them. Please visit this link to request access to our TaxCaddy mobile app. If you are concerned about delivering your documents to us in a timely manner, please contact your advisor to discuss a possible extension.

  • Mailing documents: Our preference is for you to provide materials electronically. We have excellent, secure and easy-to-use file upload capabilities and can send you instructions if you need them. All mailed documents will be set aside for five days before processing to ensure the safety of our associates reviewing mail as the potential of the virus to be transmitted on printed materials remains for several days. We understand there may be extenuating circumstances and we will handle these appropriately.

  • Travel guidance: Rehmann associates have been asked to work remotely and cancel work-related domestic and international travel in favor of a virtual approach. If you have a circumstance you’d like to discuss with your advisor or account manager, please call them directly.

  • Trading and account access: For wealth management clients, trading and account access will not be impacted by these changes. Please continue to work with your advisor for your trade requests.

  • COVID-19 impact: We encourage you to reach out to your advisor or account manager to talk about coronavirus’ impact on your organization or personal finances. Our goal is to provide guidance and insight to help you weather the storm. And if we can’t help, we know others in the business community who can.

  • Communicating changes: Rehmann continues to monitor COVID-19 and will proactively communicate matters that impact our clients. Our website will be updated frequently with resources to assist our clients and communities. If you missed the communication regarding our crisis planning checklist, you can find it here.

All of us at Rehmann care about our clients and will continue to work closely with you to ensure exceptional service, delivered seamlessly through a technology-driven approach. We are focused on enabling our clients to build and strengthen their organizations as we navigate through uncertainty and complexity during these unprecedented times.

Please take care of yourselves and your families,

Randall R. Rupp, CPA
Chief Executive Officer
