Previous work experience/work history
I joined Rehmann 18 years ago just out of college. Prior to Rehmann, I worked in two different laboratories at Dow Chemical testing various products and applications.
What has kept you engaged at Rehmann all these years?
The work that I do and the relationships that I have built with coworkers and clients. I have met so many wonderful people here at Rehmann and externally with our clients. It has been great learning about various professional industries and how our investigations can help such a vast array of clients. It always feels good knowing that something our team produced made a difference for a client.
Previous work experience/work history
My main focus at Rehmann has been tax compliance and consulting for closely held businesses and their owners. I’ve also had opportunities to work with high net worth individuals, mergers and acquisitions, financial institutions and consulting for tax reform.
How has mentorship at Rehmann influenced your growth?
I attribute a lot of my growth and success at Rehmann to one principal in my office that has served as my mentor since I joined the firm. He consistently challenges me to improve my skillset by providing me with unique opportunities to learn. With his guidance, I’ve had the chance to work alongside many firm leaders to serve our clients, give tax presentations to community leaders, bankers, and lawyers, and assist the firm in implementing tax reform consulting initiatives. These experiences have helped me develop my professional network and skills, expanding my career potential at Rehmann. Most importantly, I have a great relationship and friendship with my mentor; I know he’s looking out for my best interests and is invested in my success, both personally and professionally.
Previous experience/work history
Prior to working at Rehmann I spent nearly nine years working in retail, and about five of them were in retail management for a national boating supplies store. During this time, I also worked in construction building custom homes.
How has your time at Rehmann made an impact?
During my time at Rehmann I have grown tremendously. I have built incredible relationships with both clients and Rehmann associates, and I think the people I met during my career at Rehmann have largely influenced my growth. Rehmann associates from the top down truly care about me and my success, and our clients greatly appreciate the services we provide them.
Previous experience/work history
My audit career began with a large international firm. From there, I moved to a smaller boutique firm that eventually merged with Rehmann. The smaller firm gave me the opportunity to learn about the financial aspects of running a business, which in turn allowed me to be a true business advisor and partner for my clients.
How would you describe your leadership style?
I would describe my leadership style as situational. I try to gauge what strategy is best depending on the situation or task at hand. Different people often require different leadership styles and adapting to the needs of my team allows me to choose a style that works for them. At the end of the day, I pride myself on caring and putting our people first!
