Carol is a tax principal with Rehmann. She is based in the Troy office, and leads the tax practice for that location.
Carol has more than 30 years of experience in both public and private accounting. She serves a wide range of middle-market businesses on tax planning, business transactions and operational issues. Carol combines knowledge gained from her diverse experiences with a strategic thought process in working with business owners and their executive teams to accomplish their goals. Innovative ideas are often a key to success, but these need to be delicately balanced with practical insight.
Carol’s technical tax experience focuses on joint ventures and partnerships. She uses her experience to craft business arrangements that take into account differing goals and concerns of the parties involved in creating a successful business. The coming and going of business partners can involve complex tax issues, as well as difficult economic and individual issues, and Carol is a steady, experienced advisor in these situations.
Industry experience includes real estate, franchises, start-up businesses, multi-state businesses, service industries, professional service firms and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Rehmann, Carol was a tax partner with a national public accounting firm for 27 years, after which she transitioned to the role of CFO for a client. She guided them through the process of a sale to a private equity firm before joining Rehmann in 2008.
